Rates

Rates depend on a number of factors.

• Level of specialisation is one of my main concerns when setting a price (for example the degree of expertise required for translating and the degree of terms that may need to be researched). The end user and the use of the documents will also be taken into consideration.

• I offer reasonable rates and also adapt them to different kind of jobs. I have however chosen not to compete through low prices, but striving to offer superior quality. Therefore, in order to save time for both you and us: if price is your top priority, please turn to someone else. Conversely, if quality at competitive rates is your main concern, you are in the right place!

• GBP and, first of all, USD fluctuate compared with EUR. Rates may be adjusted accordingly.

• Prices may be expressed per word, line or cartella (1,500 strokes spaces included), based on the source or the target text.

• I apply hourly rate for post-editing from MT.

• It is also reasonable that urgency has its cost. If the clients set a very tight but practicable deadline, they will be and rightly so subject to an additional cost.

• Apart from EUR, I accept payments in the following currencies: USD, GBP and CHF.

• File format and document layout issues may result in a surcharge.

• Apart from the translation, an assignment often comes with a lot of formatting requirements. If this work can be minimised it can have an impact on the time spent on a job.
