I am wondering if anyone knows how to change how Word 2007 displays XML files. I have spoken with Microsoft who were less than helpful. When I open an XML file in Word 2007 for the purpose of working on it in Wordfast (using +Tools) I am unable to get Wordfast to recognize the tags. On the right side I get a message that I need to choose my XML data view. I believe that this is where the problem is, but I am unable to choose any other data views (they all get rejected).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you. | | | |

Open your file in a simple text editor (Notepad or something like that). Select all the text (Ctrl + A) then paste it in a word document and save it in a format that is convenient. This way Word will not reformat it automatically.

Thank you, Szilas. That works! Wordfast was marking some of my translated text as source text before but that problem is now solved as well. | | | |

Hi ni-cole,
I downloaded preptags and tried it too. It works well. I guess it's just a matter of finding a program that will open the file propely so Wordfast can use the tags properly.
Thanks. | | | |
