I was made to realize that I didn't give any context in my earlier question.

"The most common perils that are covered by a DP1 policy are fire, lightning, internal and external explosions, windstorms, hail, riot and civil commotion, smoke, aircraft and vehicles, volcanic explosion, vandalism, and malicious mischief.

A DP2 policy protects against the same perils as a DP1 policy (windstorms, hail, fire, vandalism, etc.), but in addition, it might also include coverage for things like: collision in case a car runs into the house, burglary damage, weight of ice and snow, glass breakage, acci- dental discharge or overflow of water or steam, falling objects, frozen pipes, electrical damage, or collapse.

A DP2 policy is a replacement cost policy, which means that—unlike a DP1 policy—it does not deduct for depreciation.

A DP3 policy offers the most comprehensive coverage that can be obtained on rental properties."
