اللغويات / galaxym812000@yahoo.com | | أنجليزي مصطلح أو جملة: I refused to kill | "I refused to kill" - This was the title of an article by a former communist Romanian agent who refused to kill a non-communist political enemy of the Ceausescu regime in Romania. In Romanian it is Am refuzat sa ucid (Am ray-foo-zaht suh oo-cheed)with the use of the subjunctive case. I was wondering how it would be said in Italian, a Romance language which has evolved differently? Any help with a translation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This one was kind of a toughie to decide on. Monia's answer was more what I expected but Emyd's got the most confirmations. However, I'm sure that Verbis' translations can be used in some circumstances and Monia's too, since everyone has their own idiolect and differences always seem to exist between literary and spoken forms.
