__________
This term is applied to various brands of race car throughout the article: Lagonda, "15" (although this might not refer to a race car), Miller...
Does it simply mean "supercharged"?, or is there some other neat way of expressing "Alfa Romeo... à compresseur"?
I don't like the obvious "with compressor".
I'm afraid I'm not a motor-racing connoisseur, and would therefore be grateful for any help from anyone knows more about this topic than I do! Many thanks!

Some more evidence (other than Bourth's g-hits for "supercharged xxx", which doesn't in fact make the connection with "supercharged", especially as "supercharged" backtranslates as "surcomprimé". However, according to Collins, "supercharger" backtranslates as "compresseur", which, along with your engineering expertise, clinches this for me!
Should the publisher have any different ideas, I'll modify the glossary accordingly. 4

السائل: many thanks kashew for the corroboration! I was really hoping for some supporting evidence, but I see you're an engineer, so perhaps that's sufficient...
السائل: oops!
Some more evidence... "would have been welcome"
السائل: oops again (sorry)!
the g-hits for "supercharged" don't show the connection with "à compresseur"
