With wind turbines, Azimut refers to the yaw drive that rotates the entire nacelle to keep the rotor facing into the wind.
The brake is used to prevent the nacelle rotating (yawing), e.g. during maintenance work.
All the major manufacturers call it the "yaw drive".
Simply google for "yaw drive" (azimuth drives are either literal translations or do not refer to wind turbines).

The braking mechanism must be designed to withstand wind loads that try to turn (yaw) the nacelle against the braking force. In your case, the design load is 327 kNm.

The more general term "Blockiereinrichtung" is possibly used because in some smaller yaw drives one simply pushes a bar between the gear teeth to jam them. Larger drives have a disk brake on the drive motor. |
