Naturalmente si sconfina nel filosofico e c'è questo riferimento a Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker, fisico e filosofo, che non mi è chiaro.
Im elementarsten Fall haben wir einfache Alternativen vor uns, ganz im Sinne der Uralternative, des ***«Ur»***, von Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker. Hat ein bestimmter Detektor geklickt oder nicht? Oder, bei zwei Detektoren, hat Detektor A den «Klick» gemacht oder Detektor B? Alles andere ist mentale Konstruktion.
Cercando in italiano il nome del fisico + "alternativa" non trovo niente di utile, e anche sull'enciclopedia il suo profilo non dice molto. Qualche idea? Grazie mille :-)) |

C.F. von Weizsäcker faßt Information als die Anzahl der Uralternativen in einer bestimmten Situation. Dabei geht er von binären, letzten Alternativen aus, bei denen in Entscheidungssituationen eine von zwei Möglichkeiten ausgewählt wird. Auch er versucht, Information zu quantifizieren, und es werden qualitative Aspekte vernachlässigt.

Lorenzo Lilli (asker): 17:29 Jun 2, 2004: il qubit - cioè quantum bit è il corrispondente del bit per i computer quantistici (l'ultima frontiera, si prevedono progressi incredibili). In questo caso credo allora che intenda, per così dire, l'unità minima di informazione. Grazie Elena per il testo in inglese!

forse questo testo inglese può esserti di aiuto, parla del fatto che è stato tradotto con "prime" - sicuramente sto per dire una fesseria: può essere che Ur si riferisca a quantum bit nel senso della particella "originale" che consente di creare tutte le altre? (non so neanche bene cosa sia un quantum bit, sto andando a caso) - comunque bello il link di Dieter
H.Lyre, one of Weizsaecker's students, recently has formulated a quantum theory of information (H. Lyre: Quantentheorie der Information. Zur Naturphilosophie der Theorie der Ur-Alternativen und einer abstrakten Theorie der Information, Springer Verlag, Wien 1998) using Weizsaecker's Ur theory ( "Ur" is translated here as "prime"). He shows that the symmetries of nature are built up by prime alternatives or "yes-no" decisions (primes) and that such a prime is the unit of quantum information or a quantum bit. This is probably the first complete description of quantum information in nature. The primes are nonlocalizable; they do not carry energy, but gauge symmetry per unit volume (1/m3). Using a different approach Collier (J.Collier: Information originates in Symmetry Breaking, Science and Culture 7, 247 (1996)) affirms these results.

As you see, there is no widespread translation.
If we are permitted to describe the possible quantum states of the whole universe in a separable Hilbert space, it is mathematically trivial that the states of the universe can be built up from states of smallest, binary "subjects." These are called ,,urs" by Weizsäcker (from German Ur-Alternativen = original alternatives).
