Bio
I was born in France and my family moved to Eugene OR, U.S.A. when I was 6 years old. I grew up going to American schools and my mother would home school my siblings and I in French when we got home. Once we were all comfortable with the English language the rule was to only speak French at home so that we would not lose our native tongue. As a result I have a keen ear for languages and speak French, Spanish, and English without an accent. In my early 20's I moved to New York City where I started working in kitchens as a line cook and quickly moved up the ranks as my culinary career grew. Working in kitchens in NYC you are exposed to a lot of Spanish speaking people which helped me to continue learning and practicing the Spanish I studied in school. But my true passion is traveling, my wife and I have done extensive travel through out the world and plan on doing so for many years to come. From Asia, Europe, and the America's we have visited more than 40 countries, immersing ourselves in the language, culture, and of course the cuisine of every nation and region we have had the amazing opportunity to experience. Being a chef is very exhausting and after 17 years I can feel the effects of working on my feet for 12+ hours a day. Translation is my way to transition out of the culinary arts and continue experiencing all that the world has to offer. I will always have passion for cooking and look forward to being creative in my own kitchen and furthering my linguistics.
