Over 20 years experience in translating, writing and proofreading in French, Spanish and English, freelance or as part of different organizations and companies in Quebec, Canada, Mexico, Belize and Peru. My main field of work is international and local development (which in itself includes a variety of issues: rights, environment, agriculture, small businesses, mining, health, education, among others) and I also have experience in a variety of fields (see interests below). I am always eager to take up new challenges and I do it well.

Working method:

I receive and send documents through e-mail (broadband connection). I use Wordfast (TRADOS compatible CAT tool), Catscradle (for translation of websites) and perfectly master Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Page Maker. I use a variety of (personal and on-line) glossaries and always make sure the translation is totally accurate.

CUSO is a Canadian International Cooperation Agency, with offices in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Oceania. As part of the CUSO-Peru Office, an important part of my duties consisted in translating and writing a variety of documents (Volunteer Placement Descriptions, Project Proposals, Activity Reports, Informative and Promotion Documents, etc.) in Spanish, French and English.

Community development organization supporting the development of workers co-operatives for adults and teen-agers. As the person in charge of communication, I had to write in French a variety of documents for the promotion and implementation of Youth co-operatives, as well as reports for the organization as a whole. Editor/Project Advisor, Cubola Productions / Cubola New Art Foundation (Belize) 1992-1994

Cubola Productions is one of Belize’s most important Publishing houses and Cubola New Art Foundation was created to support the work of young artists. As in-house editor, I was in charge of proofreading, writing and critical editing of a variety of documents (Books on history, archeology, environment, short stories, promotional material, etc.) in Spanish and in English. As an Advisor in Project development and communications for the Foundation, I wrote project proposals for the development of young artists and the promotion of Belizean culture, as well as promotional materials for arts and crafts produced by youth.

Freelance Translator and writer (Mexico, 1989-1992)
While doing my Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies at the UNAM, I was offering my services as a freelance translator and writer. Some of the most relevant jobs during that time are:
- Oral translation in French and Spanish for Tri-National (Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico) Conferences on Free Trade.
- Translation from Spanish to French of a 400-page Doctor’s Thesis on Psychoanalysis from a social perspective, by Heli Morales, to be presented at the Université La Sorbonne, Paris.
