This is great! I will just post here to bring this to the attention of translators who are new to translation software and are looking for cost-efficient ways to start using CAT tools and other software.

The software referred to by Sven allows translators to set up their computers so that they can run Linux parallel to their default OS, as well as software for translators to be used under Linux. Basically, you get an entire package of translation software that caters to most of your translation needs without spending a penny. I encourage translators looking for an economic means to start exploring translation software to try these. This software may prove to be plenty to work with and you might realize you don't actually need to spend money to produce TMs, TDBs or align text. If nothing else, then you will get to explore computer tools for translators before making a choice among the commercial tools available. I think this is an excellent way for translators who are new to computer-assisted translation to familiarize themselves with it.
For similar tools, visit Anthony Baldwin's website: http://www.linguasos.org/. There are lots of useful resources there as well. ▲ Collapse

Sorry, I'm a newbie when it comes to Linux.
My understading is that I download the VMware Player, and then I'm able to run Linux + Omega T + other translator tools virtually, even though my native OS is Windows?! Sounds cool to me!
What about other Linux apps that were not bundled here, and not build to run virtually. Can they be executed too?
