Hi!

Does anyone knows the rate per hour for indexing a book?

Internet search says anywhere between $3 and $7 per page, depending on several factors, factors only you can determine since you're the one read into the project.

They include complexity, page density, number of authors, design, etc.

That said, I think it's a waste of a translator's time to get involved in such "secretarial" tasks. Besides, who is better than the very author(s) to roadmap their book?

The confirmed maximum I found was $8 per page, but $7 seems to be more common.

your per-page rate X your average number of pages in an hour = your hourly rate.
