Limitations

 Pre-planned operations where Rapid Entry criteria are identified and Rapid Entry is authorised by a Divisional Commander. These operations can only be carried out by members of the Uniform Task Force. These criteria can be found on the Rapid Entry Authorisation Form (Form 874 – Force Forms).

 Rapid Intervention Techniques involving situations with Firearms do not apply to this document and are dealt with separately by the Firearms Support Department.

 An entry where there is information/intelligence to suggest any type of additional security or re-enforcement.

 Any door with a makeup of 50% glass or any door where there is 30% glass above waist height.

 Any entry where glass presents a risk of injury.

In the event of any of the above limitations being met, expert advice should be sought via the level one instructor in the first instance or a level two operative from the Task Force. Forced entry should not be attempted without this advice.
