State Library Co-working Jul 30, 2018

Fellow Brisbane-based translators! Escape your home-office for the first-Friday of the month (9:30am 3 Aug 2018) co-working session at the State Library!

Thank you Guofei_LIN for starting this from the forums, looking forward to meeting each other and bouncing-off each other's work-drive! (or just chatting over coffee)

Going to cancel if no one else signs up Aug 1, 2018

It seems there is less interest than originally led to believe!
I must cancel the event if we get no registrations.

Thanks, Dylan! Aug 1, 2018

Hi Dylan, I'm currently travelling in China till mid September, so I won't be able to come to this event in August and September, but I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone in October.

Apology Aug 2, 2018

I won't be able to make it this Friday. As for the lack of interest, I wonder how many Brisbane (and surroundings) based translators/interpreters are active on Proz.com - the AUSIT events seem to be quite well attended.

Maybe the ratio is similar to full-time vs. part-time translators. There were only ever a few who'd even heard of ProZ.com when I'd mentioned it before. It's surprising because I became full-time thanks ProZ.com, I couldn't have done so without this site. Should try promote it to other AUSIT members because NAATI certification is already well-renowned with many global agencies. There tends to be apprehension about late/low payments but it's not always the case. Will try again next month! (maybe just coffee or wine though!)
