Hello and welcome to my profile page,

my Name is Matthias Staudt, a native German speaker. I translate English and Spanish into German (and sometimes German into Spanish). I interpret Spanish<>German and I have got already a thirteen-year experience as a full time freelancer.

Apart from the scientific-technical context, my general experience in translation covers a wide range of fields, as tourism, advertising, legal, sports, politics, history and health (see and download my CV at this page!).
Usually I work with TRADOS Studio, sometimes still with WORDFAST classic, and from time to time with MemoQ, Memsource, Passolo and WF Pro.

I have been working continuously with English (particularly scientific) for over 20 years and I have been teaching German between 1995 and 2004. My Spanish is native-equivalent (I live in Spain, got the Superior Diplome in Spanish (DELE) in 1996, did my mastercourses and Ph.D.-thesis in Spanish, including conferences, articles etc).

My expertise fields are physics, mathematics, statistics, mechanical engineering (diverse kinds of machines, construction etc.), electricity, energy, environment and climate. I hold the following university degrees:

* Mechanical Engineer in Germany (Diplomingenieur, 1993)
* Physicist in Spain (Licenciado en Física,1998)
* Ph.D. (doctor) in Applied Physics in Spain (2004)
