Either proz.com, or proz.com. Agencies only. For the sake of, errr, posterity, I record first contacts that lead to business in TO3000. I can't remember the last time I secured a new client - agency or translation consumer - through personal (not professional) acquaintances, mailings, luck, LinkedIn, business events, my website or other means. I don’t keep track, sometimes they tell me how and where they found me (in general, word of mouth, Proz and my website) but that’s all! | | | Thayenga Germany Local time: 10:30 Member (2009) English to German + ...
All that truly matters is the fact that they did find me. | |

I do not always know. In the early days it was almost always Proz.com or my former employer, and then contacts from powwows or word-of-mouth - often people I had met or got in touch with via Proz.com. A few were contacts from my former employer's network, but they were often members of Proz.com as well. Then I have had a few new clients from the CIoL Find-a-Linguist site. They tend to be excellent clients, but rarely come again. Some may have found me via LinkedIn, but not many. A couple of times, a PM from an earlier client has moved to a new agency and contacted me. Recently I have not had very many new clients at all, but a couple of earlier ones have turned up again after a couple of years. ▲ Collapse | | | Kay Denney France Local time: 10:30 French to English
I don't actually record the info anywhere, but I do always ask anyone enquiring about my services where they found me. I've noticed that those who find me in certain places always find someone cheaper. The best contacts have all come via LinkedIn (I diligently keep contact with all former colleagues, but my favourite agency found me there all by itself) | | | Mario Freitas Brazil Local time: 05:30 Member (2014) English to Portuguese + ... I do know where most of my clients found me, but I don't have a formal record of that. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Do you keep track of how/where your new clients find you?
