Unlike digital currencies, so-called self-issued no-tender "cryptocurrencies"--without real value, specific regulation, and legal status--are but bartering for hyper-volatile bubbles. As far as most "freelancers" can't understand their cashflow, negotiate terms, or substantiate the price (even for themselves), diving into virtually counterfeit money numbers would hardly make them any... The use of virtual currencies should not be considered for any purpose at all. It's an instrument for speculation, and nothing else. And, like all such instruments, it will collapse one day. People who insist in these currencies will eventually undergo a big loss, unless they quit soon.
