| | | | Bio: I was born in Shanghai, China. My schooling went through the period of an unprecedented cultural revolution during the late 1960s and the early 1970s, a political movement to purify the communist party in China. At that time, the education policy in China for the primar...y and secondary school was emphasis on teaching the practical knowledge for children to be cultured and skilled ordinary people when they grow up. I was luck at the time. We had some very good teachers came from the first-class selective school and university to teach us, because their institutions was temporarily shut down. Study wasn’t too difficult for me and we hadn’t had much school works to do. I enjoyed very much in my schooling.
The hard part, I was assigned to countryside in An-Hui Province after completing study. Three (two other girls and me) settled down in a little village working together with the local people. It was a physical demanding job and as well as the living conditions were poor. I was there for six years.
I returned back to Shanghai. I took a chance, passed selective test and went into bank. I worked there for ten years over there from a teller at business section in local district agent to an officer of the planning and credit department in city branch. It was hard work and fruitful. I had my tertiary education in finance which it went through the night time study.
I have been living in Australia since 1989 as I took a chance as an overseas student. I have varied experience in here. I describe my live in Australia as two phases: a labour period and a professional career. The seven years labour job, that was mainly a process worker and a 3-5 star hotel attendant, was a simple, money-earning happy period. The career path, I have tried in a very hard way, on and off, I have been struggling to reach my aim and I didn’t do well. However, during that period I have completed all necessary courses to get what I aim for. I have got my qualifications from certificate III to bachelor, from TAFE to University, study area from Accounting, Logistics to Translating.
I am satisfactorily that the challenges the live threw to me, the best possible outcome I could manage. I am happy that I had so many different lives and I am able to read so many different books. I am glad to be a new entry for translating.
More Less Message: Hi every one, I am a new entry. I hope you can help in some way. |
