The Ansaries

A gnostic sect in Syria

disagree Nabil Baradey : The root of this word is completely different from the root of Nusairis. Ansari comes from Ansars (Supportters), Nusairis comes from Ibn Al-Nusair, the founder of the sect.

Alawites

It is the religious denomnation in Syria and Turkey alright, except the name العلوين and its translitteration is what I see in Western literature.
