Spanish term

Monto de adquisición

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Taxes, fees and duties
The text may be from Mexico. This looks like it means "purchase amount", but it seems a rather odd way to express it. It appears in this list:
"Clave vehicular
Fecha aduana
IDCABVEHICULOUSADO
IDVEHICULOUSADOINFOADUANERA
Monto de adquisición
Monto de enajenación
Nímero de identificación vehicular
Nombre aduana
Número aduana
Número de motor
Número de serie de la carrocería
Valor del vehículo en Guía EBC o Libro Azul"

Acquisition cost

According to
http://www.itfiscal.com.mx/jupgrade/images/pdf/Noticia Fisca...

I imagine there's a similarly extensive definition for "Monto de enajenación", going some way beyond mere "Sale price".

Note from asker:
Very helpful and interesting. This client send me a lot of texts and it's not always clear which of several countries they are from, so I always need to treble check for these little differences. And Mexico is a world of its own.

neutral philgoddard : This is just another way of saying sale/purchase price.

Please read the explanation. In MX it's the purchase price (less VAT) PLUS a series of related costs. It represents the 'total investment' made by the purchaser, for the purpose of calculating a 'capital gains' tax when the vehicle is subsequently sold.
