Don Lombardi was stretched teaching, gigging and producing these things but had a student called John Good who, even though he had a proper job, opted to help out in his spare time. Incidentally, I was once the proud owner of one of these ''Carry Alls'' and was also the owner of a several Camco drums one of which I bought from DW: a 6.5” a wood shelled snare drum in Alice Cooper blue. I’m pretty sure John Good delivered the drum to me at the apartment we were renting on Barham Boulevard while I was making an album in LA. Later, Dave Mattacks scored that drum from me and I hope he still has it. But anyway, on with the story...
I can't really get it - what does Alice Cooper have to do with it? How is this phrase supposed to be understood?

More on Alice Cooper Blue lacquer finish
'Another interesting Camco set I saw was played by a drummer named Whitey Glann in a film called The Rose. He had two large bass drums mounted horizontally on legs with pedals hitting underneath, leaving what would normally be the front heads to be used as batters, sort of like a huge fifties cocktail set. Whitey played with Alice Cooper and was probably responsible for creating that Celeste Blue lacquer ultimately catalogued as ‘Alice Cooper Blue’.'

As you can see, there is also an Alice Cooper White, or AC White finish,
http://tiny.cc/ooi36w
both apparently created by or for the then Alice Cooper drummer, Pentti "Whitey" Glan.
Have a look at post #13 on this page, http://tiny.cc/aoi36w

Discussion
I don't know if 'Alice Cooper' means that the colour is in any way different, or it it is just part of this speaker's jokey style; the idea of a sweet little girl 'Alice' contrasted with 'Alice Cooper' is an appealing image, and could be all that was intended, purely for the humour; but of course, there could be a more specific musical / colour reference of which I am sadly ignorant!
