I am originally from Norway, where I now live and work writing and translating brochures, writing and editing web content and writing and editing film/tv scripts in both Norwegian and English.
From 1998-2000 I lived and studied journalism in Sydney, Australia.
I then moved to London where i did a Masters degree in film and TV, before going on to work in audiovisual production on the highest level.
From 2006 I chose to go freelance and focussed instead on editing of film and tv scripts, plus other suitable work such as ghost writing for commercials directors and when requested, doing translations. Through my language skills i have helped my clients win jobs with clients the likes of Kelloggs, Mars, Mazda and H&M to name a few.
J'ai aussi passé deux ans en France, d'abord comme jeune fille au pair et puis après j'ai etudié la psychologie à l'université de Montpellier. Au point d'entrer l'université mon Francais était déjà aussi bon que je n'ai pas été obligé de l'étudier à coté, comme fautent normalement les étudiants internationaux.
Jag kan ochså svenska, genom många års arbete med svenskar i London.
My strengths are that I have a profound understanding of all the cultures that I have lived in and worked with, which means I am good at nuances, details, slang and expressions. I have a wide-ranging knowledge of cultural references. Because I have used both Norwegian, English, French and Swedish professionally as my working languages - and not simply for translation purposes - I am able to translate not just accurately but also beautifully. |
