Japanese to English: Words for a piece of calligraphy General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Philosophy
Source text - Japanese
Translation - English The Lotus flower blooms and shows its beauty in the midst of muddy water.
Untainted by the mud, it uses it for its nutrition. The muddier the water, the bigger and more beautiful it blooms.
Mud is all around in our world but it needn’t taint us. It is for us to grow, rise up and flower in beauty.
