Aw, it's hopeless. Many moons ago I learned some French in school, and I've since attended some courses, but I never achieved fluency or even enough confidence to simply try when I'm in Belgium on business.

What I need is an immersion course in a French-speaking environment.

So, would there be a French-speaking host family someone in Montreal or Quebec with a language school within reach who would rent me a room for a few weeks? Not in the countryside, please, unless the city can be reached by public transport. I'll have to continue working when I'm there, which means I'll need to be able to connect to the internet. I am house trained, can do my own laundry, iron my own shirts, cook and shop. I'm really quite modest in my demands, but I draw the line at a dog house and kibble.

Looking forward to your replies or questions.

Thanks in advance, Marinus

Yes Feb 14, 2009

Hello Marinus,

Your demand interests me. I already act as a home stay "mother" with foreign students coming in Montreal to study French or English. The room for rent will be free from next Monday, February 16th. For more details, please write to me at [email protected]. Thank you.

Suzanne
