Non-PRO English to Arabic Art/Literary Linguistics Script
I work in a Macintosh operating system and would like to install the Arabic language into my operating system. In order to do this I must choose the language from amongst other languages each written in its own script. In addition, the same language can be written in different native scripts.

Although I have discovered the classic (standard) script for Arabic, there are apparently other Arabic scripts that I must choose in order for Arabic documents to appear correctly in my viewing screen.

What are these? Could you please write the word Arabic (the language) in each?

fuad Yahya Yes and No. The motivation for my question is truly what you say, but the solution can be found by answering my very simple question about the various ways of writing the same term. Thus, there is no conflict with regard to KudoZ.com protocol. Thank you for alerting me to the forum option, however. I might very well make use of it later on.

Since you are unfamiliar with Arabic (hence your suggestion of "Arabic scripts"), your need will be much better served by heeding the advice of those who wish to help you. Your question is not about terminology, but about adding Arabic support to a Mac.

Fuad Yahya This is not a discussion question. Simply I want to know how to write the word for the Arabic language in as many ways as there are Arabic scripts. Surely this is a terminological question encountered in translation.
