Hebrew term

השקעות משותפות בנאמנות

Hebrew to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Investment
Here is the complete title:

חוק השקעות משותפות בנאמנות, התשנ"ד-1994

« loi sur les investissements conjoints dans des fonds mis en dépôt légal » does not sound good in French.

Note : נאמנות = 'escrow funds,' not 'trusteeship'

In the UK, "Act" refers to an Act of Parliament (in creating a new law). In Israel, newly enacted laws are not, and never have been, referred to as Acts of Knesset...
Peer comment(s):

neutral Eynati : It's an Act not a Law, pace Israeli bureaucrats' illiteracy. They do NOT rule on what is correct English (AE too, btw: these are Acts in the USA, Daniel). It's a faux ami because they're both khok in Heb. Spelling it hOkim rather underlines the point.

In England it would be an Act. In Israel it's a Law, because that is what the "illiterate bureaaucrats" aforesaid call it.

agree Daniel Isaacs : FWIW the 'illiterate bureaucrats' in the Ministry of Justice in this case were all English speakers and this decision was purposely taken in order to distinguish Israeli "Laws" from British "Acts".
