CafeTran Espresso allows you to translate individual segments using AI. But you will get better consistency if you let the AI translate the whole project in one go. I think this is only possible for smaller projects, but I found it an interesting experiment.
Instead of clicking and pasting in the ChatGPT web page, you can also use the API. First, you'll need to install Python3: https://youtu.be/_L4_GwNsClU
Then you can use these macros:
A file target.txt will be created on your desktop.
You can now combine all actions into one macro. You can skip creating source.txt and target.txt and do all the actions from the clipboard.

Have you also considered exporting to bilingual RTF from CafeTran, and working with that? That's what I use as an intermediate format when using CotranslatorAI together with CafeTran. I can copy/paste the src/trgt table text from the RTF into and out of CotranslatorAI and it works
flawlessly. I haven't tested it yet in the ChatGPT web interface (chatgpt.com), but I think it might work.

A bilingual docx is certainly a possibility. It would have the advantage that tags (representing character formatting) are preserved. Let's see what Igor comes up with.
