Defeat, Defend, Fend off, Get rid of, ward off.... Explanation: دفع meaning defeat, Defend, fend off and get rid of and it depends on the context of the sentence you are using it in. Actually a family of the word دفاع meaning Defense, and ادفع as in instructional voice and ordering manner, "Defeat" and مدافع The defender. So if follow this root and order it means. to Defeat, get rid of " of a threat, a habit..." to fend off and ward off. Please advise if I missed the point or was wrong. I would appreciate it.
