Paula Gordon translates from Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Serbian into English. Her translations of short stories, poetry, and interviews have been published in Asymptote, Words without Borders, Copper Nickel, Lunch Ticket, and St. Petersburg Review. Book-length translations include the play Otpad (Refuse), by Montenegrin author Ljubomir Đurković (Montenegrin National Theatre, 2003).

I chose literary translator as my vocation and started doing it as a student of English lang. & literature. Translated from/into English fiction, plays, comics, short stories, essays and poetry for publishers, literary magazines and authors. My ethno singer's talent is useful for songs, actress experience for plays . My authors include J. M. Coetzee, D. Holler. S. Maugham, Robert Fulghum, Fay Weldon, N. Gordimer, J. I’m a native speaker of Serbo-Croatian, (a language covering Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian and Montenegrin), and also a writer, with three novels behind me. My literary translation experience began with translating my own novel, Dream Tamer, into English. I also have a Master degree in philosophy, so I started translating short articles from Danish and English into Serbo-Croatian, until I eventually translated a whole book, Kierkegaards Univers by Johannes Sløk, from Danish to Serbo-Croatian.
