How easy is it to learn?

irina laub 20:04 Feb 22, 2016. Прекрасная программа, освоить которую можно за короткое время, и пользоваться всю (профессиональную) жизнь! Много полезных "приспособлений", доступный интерфейс, в целом - одно удовольствие работать здесь!
Текст делится программой на сегменты, равные одному предложению к переводу, что облегчает взгляд на работу - она не кажется сплошным текстом, не так "пугает" его длина. После подтверждения переведенного сегмента растет показатель "прогресса" в работе, то есть еще одна мотивация для тех, кто любит визуально оценивать степень готовности работы.
Есть несколько вариантов сохранения - скачивания переведенного текста на любом этапе его готовности. Главное - сохраняется весь формат исходного текста, что важно для работы в дальнейших программах обработки текста.
Работает также машинный перевод, который я опробовала пока что только в паре с русского на немецкий (отчет с большим количеством "бюрократизмов" и штампов, но по-большей части я была довольна: сократилось в сто раз общее время "впечатывания" текста перевода в целом, программа весьма удобно и осмысленно дает вариант перевода, который нуждается в некоторой редактуре-корректировке, конечно же, и нужно быть бдительными, как при любой редактуре, но для общего фона машинный перевод вполне можно применять, если нравится больше корректировать и выверять, а не переводить.
В программе есть все нужные опции и возможности обучения, есть специалисты поддержки, есть варианты платных услуг, можно с успехом хранить свой портфель заказов и работать в любом месте в любое время. Отличная программа, замечательный сервис! Спасибо разработчикам!

How easy is it to learn?

Lioudmila Pirojenko 17:24 Feb 17, 2016. I use SmartCAT from summer and am very content with it. It was easy to learn how to use it - there were webinars about it, too. So it was enough to participate one-two times. What I like else is the support. Every time I asked something I received clear explanations and quick answer.
I did not use the CATs before but now I do it every time I have to translate a text. It's very comfortable.

Guivien 17:37 Feb 17, 2016. As a professional translator I have to rely on CAT tools to save time, and SmartCAT has performed awesomely in that regard. Being it a free (or almost free) tool one would not expect it to function positively, but that is not the case, it performs very well.

I’m using SmartCat only for some month now and am very happy with it. It’s free and user friendly, easy to work with, comfortable and compatible with my Mac. There are no requirements, you only have to register, create your own profile page, and start using the platform.

The support team has been so far always friendly, fast, accurate and professional to solve my problems or questions, so I never had to stop working in-between.

I also love the fact that you can be hired anytime through the platform and my experience with the project management team was extraordinary: they always were ready to answer my questions on time and their advices are very helpful.

The platform also has an affiliate program, which I participate in. If you sign up after following this link — smtc.at/ko9ea — you will get $5 in bonuses that are activated after you translate 10k words on the platform.

Oh, and I looove the SmartCat landing page with the big cities moving. I could procrastinate watching for hours… ☺ ☺ (This is not a very professional statement I know, but I had to say it!)

What I would change is, perhaps, my profile page on the platform. It’s a little bit “squared” (do not know how to express it), but I can understand that it has to be difficult to create “a platform for everybody” and the important is that I can use it as a tool.

What I am also struggling with for the moment is, that confirming segments takes me little too long and that there are always translation errors shown up, even when the translation is correct (I think that means that the platform is very sensible, so, not bad either).

There is lot more I have to learn to take full advantage of the tool. I’m doing it step by step, discovering every day something new and helpful.
