English to Chinese: Materials Engineering Thesis General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Electronics / Elect Eng
Source text - English Silicon dominates the semiconductor market due to its economies of scale and high integration density of CMOS circuitry. Digital processing circuitry made of silicon
has low power consumption. These advantages make silicon an excellent choice for high
density low power consumption digital circuitry. Compound semiconductors are
relatively new materials in semiconductor industry. They come into play by offering
some unique properties which silicon could never outperform them, for examples, light
emitting properties, high electron mobility and excellent performance for high speed high
power applications. Both silicon and compound semiconductors play their significant
roles that could hardly be taken over by one another.

Years of experience: 15. Registered at ProZ.com: Jun 2009.
My name is Pei Ling Cavillon, I am a Malaysian Chinese who currently resides at Nice, France. I graduated in July year 2007 with a Bachelors of Engineering from Nanyang Technological of Singapore. I have one year working experience as Technical Recruitment Consultant in Singapore. This job enables me to network with clients from engineering firms and candidates from various professions in engineering field. Effective communication is an essential element of my job, I believe understanding of foreign languages and cultures serves as the way to diminish barrier in communication.
I received my primary and secondary education in Chinese Independent School of Malaysia where English, Malay and Chinese were taught simultaneously. I have a strong passion for language learning ever since I was young. During my free time, I enjoy reading articles and I would find out every single new vocabulary, highlight it and look for its definitions in dictionary.
I have learned Japanese for 1 year in university, I speak and write basic Japanese. After encountering my French husband, I have been learning French. I learned French one year in University and during weekends at Alliance Francaises when I was working in Singapore.
I arrived at Nice, France in March 2009. Ever since I arrive, the total immersion in French culture boosts my French learning. Currently, I speak French in an intermediate level. I continue to learn French everyday with the reference books and I am planning to continue my study in Alliance Francaise soon.
Currently, I am actively seeking opportunity which allows me to advance in my area of interest - translation. I have yet working experience in translation, but with a strong passion in linguistic area, I am confident to have what it takes and I am ready to welcome the challenges ahead.
