thnx M. Dikran. I'm wondering do i have to pick a word or there is a word that really explain what does this word mean , because we understand that the word "منسوخ" does mean that another one had come to replace the other "تنسخ الآية السابقة" as in the verses concerning the prohibition of wine

supplant

'Replace' is neutral.
'Supersede' is in favor to the newer.
'Supplant' is against the newer, insignuating it's illegimate [which suits the context here.]

I would highly recommend 'supplant' (verb.)
