Is there an objective, non-offensive, inclusive, warm-and-fuzzy etc. term I can use that won't get the local GLT community dragging my client to court over inappropriate terminology?? I've had a look at the previous Kudoz answers and I cannot take مختث as that is a hermaphrodite, which is a condition, not a choice.

I am dispairing.

متحوّل جنسياً
Explanation:
Based on the psychologically-conventional term for transexualism, i.e. 'التحوّل الجنسي'.

By the way, despite its politically-incorrect nature, 'مخنث' is far different from transexual--; it describes more a transgender person rather than a transexual.

neutral  Ala Rabie: actually, 'transexual' also applies for people who have achieved transition through gender reassignment procedures.

خنثى

Explanation:
Well, it might like (ANDROGYNE) but I think our community doesn't care about such a difference since the result is the same (natural or surgerical).
I don't know about the court issue .. but I think المتحول جنسيا is safer from that perspective.
