सर, मैं आपकी बात से पूरी तरह सहमत हूं और शाब्दिक अनुवाद के बजाय पुनर्सृजन का पक्षधर हूं। लेकिन सृजनात्मकता का आग्रह निरपेक्ष रूप में सदैव बनाए रखने के प्रति मैं सहमत नहीं। विशेषतौर पर पारिभाषिक शब्दों के मामले में, जहाँ वे विशेष अर्थ लिए हों। पुलिसिया राज्य या पुलिस राज्य ये दोनों पुलिस स्टेट के लिए पहले से प्रचलन में हैं। राज्य दमनकारी कई रूपों में हो सकता है। यहां राज्य का चरित्र पुलिसिया हो जाने पर जोर है। ... ऐसा मुझे लगता है।

ललित जी, इंटरनेट पर खोज करने पर पता चला कि इस संदर्भ में पुलिस की तुलना में पुलिसिया कहीं अधिक प्रचलित है। इसके साथ-साथ यह निवेदन करना चाहूँगा कि अनुवाद कथ्य अर्थात अर्थ का होता है, कथन अर्थात शब्द का नहीं। इंटरनेट पर "दमनकारी राज्य" के प्रयोग के सैंकड़ों उदाहरण उपलब्ध हैं: http://www.google.com/search?q=दमनकारी राज्य&btnG=Search&cli...

कोई पुलिसिया राज्य का अर्थ पूछे तो उसका स्पष्टीकरण अलग-अलग संदर्भों में दमनकारी राज्य या तानाशाही या ऐसा ही कुछ और हो सकता है। लेकिन इसका अनुवाद मेरे विचार से पुलिसिया राज्य या पुलिस राज्य ही होना चाहिए।

पुलिसिया शब्द का प्रयोग क्या उचित है जी हाँ, पुलिसिया शब्द वर्तमान संदर्भ में सर्वाधिक सटीक है, यह मेरी विनम्र राय है। पुलिसिया रौब, पुलिसिया बर्बरता, पुलिसिया कार्रवाई, पुलिसिया दमन, पुलिसिया तांडव, पुलिसिया जुल्म न जाने ऐसी कितनी अभिव्यक्तियां हैं जिनसे हम अच्छी तरह वाकिफ हैं। दरअसल आतंककारी, दमनकारी या जनविरोधी रूप को व्यक्त करने में यह शब्द कहीं अधिक सक्षम है। इस रूप में इसका प्रचलन इसकी ध्वन्यात्मकता के कारण है या किसी और वजह से .... किंतु ऐसा है

पुलिस-राज्‍य शब्‍द बहुत पहले से प्रचलन में है और राजनीति विज्ञान , लोकप्रशासन की पुस्‍तकों, शब्‍दावली आदि में हम इस शब्‍द और इसकी परिभाषा से परिचित होते रहे हैं. परंतु शब्‍द पुलिसिया एक बोलचाल या समाचारपत्रों की भाषा का शब्‍द है जो एक मानक भाषा के दृष्टिकोण से उचित नही लगता.

Thank You! I agree that these are very common words, and I think a common user also knows the meaning. Sometimes a lobby is working to earn Kudoz points. You will see it a person asks in a group and some person agree with him/her, process is repeated.

पुलिस राज, निरंकुश राज

यहां इसके लिए पुलिस-राज (police rule या tyrannus rule) का प्रयोग उचित लगता है। मीनाक्षी प्रकाशन के हिंदी-अंग्रेज़ी कोश में इसका यही अर्थ दिया गया है। डा. हरदेव बाहरी के अंग्रेजी-हिंदी कोश में भी इसके लिए पुलिस राज शब्द दिया गया है।
ऑनलाइन हिंखोज में भी पुलिस-राज दिया गया है (पुलिस-राज <===> POLICE STATE[Noun])।
