In a 2009 article that lies in the enticing territory between elegy and hard-nosed reality, Juan García Sánchez looked back over a third of a lifetime at his involvement in the early exploration of the underground world of the Sorbas Karst and the subsequent attempts to protect the area. Much of what follows is based on his writing. He pointed out that the Karst en Yesos de Sorbas is signposted from the nearby motorway.
