Saint (Santo) perchè lo leggono san invece di sen? (Ovviamente col suono nasale). Il dittongo "ai" non si legge "e"?

infatti nn è visibile.. comunque è la \'e\' tipo 3 con un\'ondina sopra, che in fonetica indica la \'e\' aperta con suono nasale

agree  Gaetano Silvestri Campagnano: il segno di nasalizzazione si chiama "tilde" ed è usato in modo simile per la a nasale del portoghese. In spagnolo invece ha un uso diverso. Ovviamente, nel francese una vocale diventa nasale perché è influenzata dalla nasale "n" successiva.
