Bio
MA Ph.D.c. Daniel E. Josephy Hernández

Over 5 years of experience in translation and editing from Spanish into English and English into Spanish. Proven record of timely deliveries and high quality output, including localization projects. Experienced user of SDL Trados and various programming environments. Capable of translating up to 3,000 words and proofreading of 5,000 words a day.

Specialist areas
Legal translation – contracts, agreements, patents, statements, internal and international policies.
Information technology – user interfaces, technical documentation and software localization.
Natural and renewable resources – bulletins and magazines of leading industry companies, product descriptions and technical specifications.
Entertainment and arts – newspaper and magazine articles, feature articles and editorials, reviews, audiovisual translation and subtitling.
Tourism– websites, brochures, print materials and scripts for audio guides.

As a passionate, hard-working translator, I am not only constantly up-to-date with the areas that I translate (medical, IT, linguistics, literature, natural and renewable resources, entertainment and media), but I am also an avid researcher interested in all matters related to traductology, linguistics and languages. I finished my MA in Translation from the Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica in 2011, where I took courses on terminology, literary translation and Spanish and English stylistics, making me a competent translator with knowledge of many areas. I decided to further pursue my passion for translation, hence I enrolled on the PhD in Translation Studies at the University of Ottawa. Why not send your files for a free quote?
