Translation - Japanese The 20th century, often called the “Era of Science”, saw advances in science and technology on an unprecedented level and drove economic expansion across the globe. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, progress in globalization and information technology has accelerated at such a pace that people, goods, money, and information now transcend national boundaries instantaneously. What’s more, nations with abundant natural resources and large territories and populations – as exemplified by the so-called “BRICs” (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) – have undergone advances in industrialization and economic growth and development hereto never witnessed by the world economy.
Whether its selling your product, your service, or just an important point, rely on me to communicate your message. For over twenty years, I've been involved in not only translating information from Japanese to English, but communicating it in a compelling way.
I've held leadership roles in many functional areas, to include the following:
software development
information technology
customer service & training
translation & technical writing
product marketing
sales & marketing
contract negotiation
I am intimately familiar with the challenges of each. I understand through first-hand experience the objective of different communications as well as the message content. This experience allows me to render a translation that is just as precise and well-written as the original.
No-Risk Trial:
Give me a try risk free. Send me a short sample (roughly 200 words or less) of the assignment and I'll translate it at no charge.
Rates:
Japanese Character: 0.10 - 0.14 USD per source character
English Word: 0.16 - 0.20 USD per target word
Formatting, data conversion, or data entry: 50 - 75 USD per hour
Rates are defined by content difficulty, format, and urgency.
I prefer charging by source character count. It is known at the time of quote and is objective. Charging by target word count provides financial incentive to be verbose. Few translators can resist the temptation to favor wordy expressions when they are penalized for brevity.
