Myrtle tree/column/sad woman/consoler/curer/nurse

Myrtle tree
Myrtus communis, the common myrtle or true myrtle
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrtus_communis
based on the context in the very next question:
ظهر من خلف الآسية شيخ صغير القامة ، محدودب الظهر ، لحيته الحمراء تشتعل فتزيد وجهه احتقانا
الآسية here means a myrtle tree
another possible meaning :
cylindrical column (if it is mentioned in the text any building , palace ).
It could mean the sad woman but not in the above context.

آسِيَةٌ: (اسم)
الجمع : أسَايَا
آسِيَة عَلَى مَا حَلَّ بِهَا مِن مُصَابٍ : حَزِينَةٌ
آسِيَة: (اسم)
الجمع : أَواسٍ
الآسِيَة : الدِّعامة pillar
الآسِيَة : الأُسْطوانَة cylinder
الآسِيَة :البناءُ المُحْكَمُ أَساسُه strongly founded building

finding : from same Almaany dictionary
الآسِى
الآسِى : الجرّاح، والطبيب. والجمع : أُساةٌ، وإِساءٌ.
curer / healer / therapist / physician / surgeon

الآسى meant as a doctor that is rare to use even in historical references.

Base on this الآسي masculine noun , the feminine noun is الآسية
So it is ok to say الآسية is the nurse.

أَساُ [عامة] nurse
أَسا [عامة] to nurse or treat

Column/pillar

A column or pillar in architecture and structural engineering is a structural element that transmits, through compression, the weight of the structure above to other structural elements below. In other words, a column is a compression member. The term column applies especially to a large round support (the shaft of the column) with a capital and a base or pedestal,[1] which is made of stone, or appearing to be so

May be he appeared from behind a pillar of the house or the mosque, and especially the last because it has too many columns, as much as any big structure ( hospital… etc)
