Hello. The following appears at the start of a book containing various studies.

حرر مواد هذا الكتاب كل من فلان وفلان

How should we understand حرر here? My first thought was that the two people mentioned (فلان and فلان) edited the book's content. On revision, I'm wondering if this could actually mean that they wrote it.

The issue is in the word حرر
Sometimes Arab editors (or even authors themselves) used the word for authors but if you have authors it will mean editors...
