There I translated technical documents like machinery manuals, instruction leaflets, and user guides; legal documents such as contracts and agreements; and every other general or specific document that needed translation. I also corresponded with several foreign companies. As part of my interpreting responsibilities, I interpreted in the company meetings and on the factory site during the start-up period to facilitate communication between the company staff and foreign engineers. In 2007, I left the job to continue my higher education and work again as a freelancer. Now I hold both a BA in English-Persian Translation and an MA in Translation Studies, the latter from Chabahar Maritime University (CMU), Chabahar, Iran.
Currently I am working as a freelance translator equipped with almost all the skills and resources necessary for a translator. I do have a good number of software programs and CAT tools installed on my PC. A few of them are listed in my resume. My career is in the Health Information Management sector in a hospital. I've often interpreted for patients' appointments at my work place, until a few years ago when the organization started using telephone interpreting from a local company. I also have interpreted sermons and entire church services. My most recent social interpreting was May 2013 when I traveled with a friend to Argentina to meet her family. My friend speaks English and Russian but no Spanish, her family only speak Spanish. We were able to have seamless conversations between the two groups. This trip reinforced my passion for languages!
