Need urgent advice: strange lines after converting tables into text ناشر الموضوع: Cécile Kellermayr
|
I have converted several tables in a Word (2000) doc into "normal" text. Unfortunately, there is also an annoying "side effect": On the left side, beside each paragraph, I get a vertical line... Can somebody tell me how to remove these lines? Thanks in advance! | | | Track changes? | Feb 16, 2005 |
Are you using the track changes feature? In that case the vertical line will indicate that something has changed with the table (it was converted to text). Select the entire paragraph and click your right mouse button. Select "accept changes".
The tracking function was activated earlier on because I was doing a proofreading, but I have deactivated it just before converting the tables. So this can't be the reason...thanks however. | | | Tina Vonhof (X) كندا Local time: 02:54 هولندي إلى أنجليزي + ... Just a wild guess | Feb 16, 2005 |
Cécile, this is just a wild guess but try blocking the converted text, go to format, borders and shading, and click on 'none' - maybe a border of the table was inadvertently left behind.

I've already tried this, but it didn't work I had to deliver the job some minutes ago. But thanks for trying to solve my problem! | | | For the next time... | Feb 16, 2005 |
Maybe you could have copied the paragraphs and inserted them as unformatted text into a normal paragraph. | | | This would be a convincing solution... | Feb 17, 2005 |
but I didn't copy and paste the paragraphs, I only converted the tables and got this as an immediate result ;-( | | | Ruxi ألماني إلى روماني + ...
Cecile, These are my suggestions: select the whole thing and turn it back as initial, as tables. Then look on the options listed there for transforming tables into text. Now try to do the transforming again and see what happens. You can always go back to the initial status. Try it step by step and see which actions are wrong. Did you look on "preview" if those lines would be seen when printed,t.i on the final document? Good luck, Ruxi

Even if it's too late now I will have to try that one day to find out what went wrong.
