When translating a name of a book from Arabic into English, do we transelatrate it, or translate it into English, or both (transelaterate it and write its meaning in English)?

I would also translate it and put the transliteration between brackets.
Abdulrahman Bustani Jan 21, 2007:
I would do both

Both

well , If I am the one who is gonna read the book and Arabic is not my language , I think it would be much better if yiu do both. Imean write " Rawdat - Al - Afkar- wal- Afham" and then translate it and put the translation into between two practises " " like that. that is the academic way of translation , that's how we readin engish books translated form Arabic , And I've participated in some , like " Khwater Qura'nya" " Koranic Thoughts"

Good Luck Dear

Gardin of Thoughts and Understanding

I wouldn't prefer to transliterate it.
Peer comment(s):

agree translatol : 'Garden' not 'gardin', of course. But one must consider who the readers are: just the translation would suffice in a text for the general reader, but I would put both the translation and the transliteration if it's in an academic text.
