عربي term
يبدأ التقادم
عربي إلى أنجليزي
القانون/براءات الاختراع
القانون: الضرائب والجمارك
حكم من محكمة النقض - مصر
The subject is around lapse (lapsation?) of the right to reclaim unfairly paid taxes after a certain period has gone by.
E.g. يبدأ التقادم من يوم الدفع
My problem is that the right to reclaim taxes only lapses at the end of the period, so can it be right to say "laps(ation?) begins on the day of payment." What is meant is surely that they begin calculating the lapse period from the day of payment. How do lawyers refer to this, What would be a succinct, correct way of translating this?

I am not an expert, but I think this is the idea you mean. تقادم has been translated many ways:

Article (157) of Oman Income Tax law uses lapse for "إنقضاء" and time-bar for "تقادم". Check out the links to this law if you feel adventurous. I hope this helps.
