Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), wis - weighted images
STIR
Diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) is a form of MR imaging (magnetic resonance imaging)
"We used T1, T2 weighed and STIR and axial plane diffusion weighed (DW) sequences, and after giving contrast medium, T1 weighed fat suppression measurements were performed." (from past translation work)

Short tau inversion recovery (STIR ) also called short T1 inversion recovery is a fat suppression technique with an inversion time TI = T1 ln2 where the signal of fat is zero. This equates to approximately 140 ms at 1.5 T.

Note from asker:
Thanks a lot for your effort, but you know at first, I wanted the translation in Arabic, and after a long search, I found that: STIR stands for Short Inversion Time (TI) Inversion Recovery استعادة عكسية بزمن إقلاب قصير And as you said WIs stands for weighted images/ imagings تصوير/ صور مرجحة Anyway, it was really complicated and I preferred just to write STIR technique as it is soooo Medical & the RPT readers aren't into knowing what techniques used in details. |
