See more Dear Translators and Agencies, Watch out a translation fraud! He offers you translation jobs and then does not pay! He said his name is Ahmed and his email is [email protected]. His email signature is Ahmed - Project Manager of The Translation Gate, Inc.|, www.thetranslationgate.com from Egypt. I checked with this agency and they said Ahmed is not the person of their company. For two last months, I’ve lost up to 2000 USD because Ahmed assigned jobs and then did not pay. It’s my neglect because I used to work with The Translation Gate and assumed that he was from that company although he used Gmail then. Yesterday, a Translator also sent emails through TranslatorsCafe.com to Translators regard this fraud [email protected]. It seems that he is still going around to cheat people. And I do not understand why he is still using this name and this email! So, please take care of this name and also, as I would suggest, anyone using free email domains to assign jobs for you. More importantly, dear Agencies and Translators, if you know the emails of the persons who in charge of translation projects of the following brands: LG, HP, Canon, kindly let me know by email to my email [email protected]. I will check with these brands to define what agencies or translator whom they assigned translation jobs for their own documents. Ahmed assigned me to translate many documents related to those brands. And I think he would not do that for nothing. Hopefully, by that way, we can define who is the fraud! Thank you for your kind attention and let’s cooperate to fight against the fraud and bad things! Yours sincerely, Trang Nguyen PS: If you have experience in discovering and punishing this kind of fraud, also please share. ▲ Collapse | | | Post removed: This post was hidden by a moderator or staff member because it was not in line with site rule | seika United States Local time: 15:35 Member (2006) Japanese to English + ... thetranslationgate.com | Sep 17, 2015 |

seika wrote: Thank you for sharing. I just got an email from them... I guess I will pass. Well, if you got an e-mail from someone @thetranslationgate.com, then it's not the scammer. The scammer claims to be from TheTranslationgate and uses the name of one of their PMs, plus a Gmail account, but is not from that agency. The real Ahmed's real e-mail address ends on @thetranslationgate.com, and they have a BlueBoard entry with reasonable ratings as well.

Really? Did "[email protected]" contacted you and you checked with the people from “thetranslationgate.com”, who confirmed that “it was a legitimate representative that was using Gmail because of a problem with their server”? Lincoln Hui wrote: It was a different vendor manager who contacted me with a Gmail address. I checked with this same company and they confirmed that it was legitimate. Well, because there have been too many problems with some guy using this company name with Gmail, I believe this Company absolutely should not allow any of its employees to use Gmail for contacting vendors. Otherwise, this will raise some true suspect.

It's a problem that can be avoided with the slightest application of effort, so it's rather curious that you didn't try to verify the individual before you did two months of work for him. | | | Trang Nguyen Vietnam Local time: 02:35 Member (2011) English to Vietnamese + ... I have the emails from translationgate.com and I replied. The feedback was weird e.g. told me the job was urgent but never sent me job instruction after my positive reply to a few of its requests. The e-mails were not impersonated, though. Soonthon L. | | | Post removed: This post was hidden by a moderator or staff member because it was not in line with site rule |
