Yes, it would. Since the major difference between skiing and snowboarding is in the equipment used, you may differentiate between them by identifying the equipment used in each one of them. In snowboarding, only a single board is used, so you can say التزحلق باللوح على الثلج. In skiing, two boards are used, so you may say something like التزحلق بمِزْلَجتين. This is how I would differentiate between them in Arabic.
