Supposedly yes, the only one I pay for = the slowest and least efficient (no Webmail, no spam filter)...

I turned things the other way around: I have 3 "professional" accounts, all free + one paid.
I also have several other "private" accounts to register on Websites when necessary, get promotional mail from local shops and stores, and "fun" from friends and acquaintances.

I have one e-mail account for everything. Although I do have two e-mail addresses (one personal, one private), they both go to the same account and all e-mails come from the same address.

I also have a Gmail account, but it's basically dormant. I only set it up because I needed one to buy apps on my phone!

Otherwise my business correspondence would be lost among floods of spam, as I only use free mail (Yahoo, Gmail, etc).

For example, I have one email address I only use for proz/kudoz queries. I look at this when I have time, which is not regularly. I also have one which I mainly use when registering software etc, which doesn't get too much spam. I have another for pub quiz related items and general jokey stuff that friends send from time to time, and a gmail account which I use as

I also have a few others....

The address I use for my "business" purposes is also a freeby, from Yahoo, and it doesn't get a lot of spam either, so I must be doing something right. The only snag is that clients with excessive security tend to have systems that automatically reject anything that looks like spam, but forewarned is forearmed.

I also recently discovered I have more than one facebook account, one which I didn't even remember opening...

I have one email address for business only, although very urgent personal emails from 2 or 3 special friends are allowed. There are 3 or 4 (or maybe more) email addresses I can use for other correspondence.

Btw Neil - Happy (belated) Birthday.

Only for the first contact Jun 12, 2011

My web site hosting package includes 10 e-mail addresses, from which I use only one as my first-contact address. Since it is published on my web site, it gets a ton of spam from robots scavenging the web. The service is rather lame, so I open it on webmail (I could use POP3, but I don't), bulk-delete all spam, and redirect (one great feature available there) the worthy messages to my main e-mail address, from where I'll reply.

My main e-mail address is a premium service IMAP, no volume limit. Amazingly efficient and effective intelligent antispam and antivirus resources. Quite inexpensive, some USD 7/month, yet there is no objection to me receiving terabyte-size attachments there. Messages are automatically deleted on their anniversary; for some USD 20/month I could keep them forever, however I prefer the other way.

I have yet a third address - it was once my main e-mail address - for about half a dozen Yahoogroups lists I subscribe to.

Though I use a lot of freeware - some excellent video-related programs are so - for some reason I've never trusted free e-mail services.

I have 2 email accounts (my own domain) that I use for business purposes. One of them is made public on my website and on online profiles like my proz profile. If people contact me via that email, I answer them from the personalized veronica.lupascu email. This is mostly for spam protection reasons.

I also have 2 personal emails, one in yahoo and one in gmail. I use the yahoo one only for registering on websites and it is generally full of spam. I don't open it too often. The gmail

The gmail account is for my friends and family, for facebook and proz. I made separate folders for each category, so they don't get messed up.

I think having a domain name for your business email accounts is very important. This was the main reason I bought my domain name.

Gmail is perfect choice Jun 13, 2011

I used to have paid email, provided by my Internet provider. I never had so much spam like here.
I got daily around 50 emails and only 2-3 were related to me.
I switched to gmail/hotmail and my problem with spam completely disappear.
One thinks that if you pay for email, it should be good one and spam-free.
apparently not.

I think it confuses people to give out more than one e-mail address.
