Firms will be allocated to one of three fee blocks. Within each fee block, there will be a series of bands at which fees will be set. For mortgage lenders and administrators, the bands will be based on gross advances for application fees and gross advances (for lenders) and the number of contracts being administered (for administrators) for annual fees. For mortgage advisers or arrangers and for insurance intermediaries, the bands for both application and annual fees will be linked to the firms'' annual income from mortgage or insurance mediation business. Where a firm carries out more than one type of business, it will pay only the highest of all the relevant fees.
