The term «complementary services» reminds me of hotels and I don’t offer welcome drinks or free spa sessions. More to the point, as I said some days ago (a similar poll) the services I offer besides translation were mainly requested by my clients and they actually have a positive impact on what I earn, but initially the idea behind them wasn’t exactly increasing profitability… | | |

Comple or Compli? For some reason, my colleagues leaned toward the Compli meaning.
*Complimentary means expressing a compliment or favorable. It can also mean free in reference to items or services provided as a courtesy.
Complementary refers to enhancing or emphasizing the qualities of another person or thing.*

Complementary is not free. It's a sale of additional services for a price on top of the original product, also called Upsell. Say, help with marketing or media research in the target country, if a translator is local.
Profitability would be highly dependent on the return on time investment vs pay for the words translated over the same time interval. Grab your abacus first:-)
